Amy Grant Releases The Christmas Collection

Grammy-award winning and multi-platinum selling artist Amy Grant released The Christmas Collection this fall via EMI Music, compiling the best songs from her three previous Christmas CDs, plus four new songs.

With over 30 million albums sold and a legacy firmly rooted in holiday music tradition, The Christmas Collection features songs hand-picked by Grant that result in a classic Christmas album.

Ultimate Guitar has just interviewed legendary guitarist / singer-songwriter Lindsey Buckingham, giving an in-depth look into his latest solo effort, Gift Of Screws — out now via Reprise Records.

Q: Will Fleetwood Mac be performing songs from your solo album?

A: ”Well, that’s a good question. We are talking about rehearsing in January and doing some dates in the spring. So I might have to get back to you on that. Politics can be a little bit tricky in Fleetwood Mac from time to time. Certainly there are a number of songs on Gift of Screws which are appropriate to be done by Fleetwood Mac especially since there are the players on there. But I guess we’re just gonna have to wait and see where the group sensibility wants us to go.”

Christian Scott AOL Full Album Listening Party

Trumpeter Christian Scott will release Live At Newport this week, his first-ever live CD / DVD via Concord Jazz. Recorded in August 2008 at the Newport Jazz Festival, the new 2-disc features a stunning performance that includes new takes on previous songs, plus five new ones.

Christian assembled an all-star band for this performance, which includes Aaron Parks (piano), Joe Sanders (bass), Jamire Williams (drums), Walter Smith III (tenor saxophone) and Matthew Stevens (guitar).
