GREG LASWELL - Three Flights From Alto Nido
Lyricist/singer/multi-instrumentalist/producer Greg Laswell finds himself released from heartache with Three Flights From Alto Nido, his sophomore full-length album on Vanguard Records, to be released July 8th. Three Flights From Alto Nido is the enigmatically, yet aptly titled third volume of his trilogy of heartbreak and redemption.
In 2006, Laswell’s Through Toledo was an intimate account of a devastating experience in his life. How The Day Sounds, a six song EP released earlier this year, served as a bridge toward self-realization while vividly capturing the sense of healing and moving on. Three Flights From Alto Nido resonates with a grand, therapeutic soundscape gained from renewal and letting go of loss.

Cultural Survival is the 8th album from sax master and 4-time Grammy® Award winner David Sánchez. Cultural Survival features 8 straight ahead jazz tracks that showcase a new direction for Sánchez as he debuts a piano-less quartet on all but three of the eight songs and the inclusion of guitar.
Explaining Cultural Survival’s intriguing title, Puerto Rican born Sánchez says: “It’s generally about the human condition. It started one day when I was just checking out the radio to find out what’s going on in the world. You realize you’re surrounded by a younger generation that seems a little unconscious, living in their own space, their own reality, and not being very conscientious about the world around them.”
